Orlando City vs New York Red Bulls Match Preview

March 31, 2018

This game offers Sacha Kljestan an opportunity to face his former side, but more importantly, he would be looking to lead the Lions to a much needed and morale-boosting first win of the season at home.

The Red Bulls have found some form ahead of this game as they defeated Minnesota United 3-0 in their last game, they would be looking for another win here ahead of their CONCACAF Champions League semifinal game on Wednesday night.

Orlando had the chance to get a first win of the season when they played their first two games at home, but the Lions collected just 1 point from those matches and they head into this game winless in their first three games of the season, the last of which was a 2-0 loss at NYCFC.

With several players missing from the first few games, Orlando would be delighted to welcome back Lamine Sane and Josue Colman to their starting line up for this one, but Oriol Rosell suffered another injury setback and he is set to miss out again.

The Lions would hope Dom Dwyer continues his good form against the Red Bulls as he has scored five goals in his last seven games against them.

Red Bulls have recovered well from losing to Real Salt Lake in a game that they played like another poor team, they followed that up with a 3-0 win over Minnesota the last time out with Bradley Wright Philips continuing his hot streak of form with a brace, and Alex Muyl getting a goal and an assist.

They would be without Alejandro Romero Gamarra and central defender Fidel Escobar who suffered a hamstring injury with Panama and could miss up to 3 weeks.

In the last seven meetings between this sides, Orlando City have 2 wins and 4 losses, with the other game ending in a stalemate.
