The new season is upon us and all the teams competing in the MLS this season would be looking to get the campaign started in the best possible way.
Orlando City and DC United face each other in perhaps the most important game of the opening weekend as both teams would be eager to show that they are a better side from the previous campaign.
13 offseason acquisitions have made the Lions up to date and their fans would be expecting the team to finish in a playoff place at the end of the season. However, how would the team cope with the loss of Kaka and Cyle Larin? Would Justin Meram step up to replace the Brazilian maestro?
Coach Jason Kreis is optimistic that this is the best team he has had for a long time, however, he would be without Sacha Kljestan for the first two games of the season as a result of a suspension, while Dom Dwyer misses this game through injury.
DC United would also be without their creative star Luciano Acosta who is suspended. Coach Ben Olsen faces a tough decision in deciding who would be in goal between David Ousted and Steve Clark after Bill Hamid had made the role his for a long time.
Orlando City defeated DC in their two meetings last season to have the upper hand in this game after 7 encounters together, the Lions have 4 wins and have scored 11 goals, while DC have 3 wins and have scored 10 goals.
Possible Starting 11 for Orlando:
D-Sutter,Sane,Spector and El-Munir
M-Lindley,Yoshi,Mueller and Johnson
F- Meram and Pinho
Referee for this game is Fotis Bazakos, he would be assisted by Corey Rockwell and Peter Balcuinas.
