The Lions have added many things looking forward to 2018 but good luck is not one of them… yet. Amro Tarek was on the training ground today practicing fully. Hopefully he stays healthy enough to make the 18 on Saturday against DC United.
On the other hand, Senegalese/French center-back Lamine Sané could be out for the opener due to a complication according to head coach Jason Kreis words at training.
His potential absence on the pitch will mean Tarek might take the starting spot alongside of Jonathan Spector, which will make Kreis changes his game plan.
Tarek could replace Sané as center-back if Kreis desire is to play with a line of 4 defenders. However, it’s possible he chooses to play with a line of 3 having Spector as a “libero” on the middle while two full-backs protecting each side.
These continuous news about players injuries are becoming a pain in the back for the Lions plans for the upcoming season since many of the players on the injury list will not only miss the opener, but several more weeks ahead.
