The Lions demonstrated dominance over Philadelphia Union in the training matches played today at Lake Sylvan Park, “winning 3-1” and providing more confidence.
Chris Mueller, Yoshimar Yotún and R.J Allen scored to provide Orlando City another victory in their ongoing preseason training before the opening match of the *MLS season next month. So far, the offense has scored 3+ goals in every scrimmage, showing clear results from Jason Kreis’ work on the team.
Chris Mueller's current form after scoring 3 goals in the 3 matches played. In a happy mood, Kreis was asked if Mueller reminded of himself when he was younger, which he replied to the media“yes he does” while holding back laughter.
For the Peruvian, it’s another penalty kick goal and another great performance for the Lions in this 2018 preseason. On the other hand, Allen scored a good header just two minutes before Mueller’s goal. According to Kreis, all the guys got the chance to play 75 minutes while Dom Dwyer only appeared for 45 minutes due to his comeback from injury.
In general, this was a well-rounded scrimmage which confirms the path the Lions are taking: lots of goals scored and only a few allowed. Nevertheless, it’s to soon to speak about the regular season actual performance since it can change when the real competition begins.
