The Lions are back at Sylvan Lake Park for their second day of training camp. Orlando City is getting started and making preparations for preseason matches.
Next preseason scrimmage is Saturday, February 3, against Jacksonville University at Southern Oak Stadium. This could be a great start for Orlando City season since it can begin this match with young players as Josue Colmán and Chris Mueller to see what they can do for the club.
In relation to Mueller, SuperDraft pick seemed eager to contribute to the team and feels excited about his first week as a Pro player. “I’ve been waiting for this my entire life”, said to the press.
According to Orlando City’s official sources, Mueller left a great impression to his teammates and coach after being the fastest player at 5-10-5 agility test. In addition, the young player demonstrated his excellent physical condition with the incredibly tiring beep-test, “losing” after several minutes against his teammate Richie Laryea. Both players led the Lions pack.
After the amazing fitness display Jason Kreis labeled Mueller as a “Soccer Junkie”.
In relation to Colmán, the Paraguayan promise received No. 10 jersey yesterday in his first training day and explained how important it is. “It’s a privilege to use the No. 10 of Orlando, which was worn by one of the greatest footballers in history” he said to official Orlando City’s site.
No. 10 jersey means a lot more than a number in any soccer team. It comes with great challenges and expectations, so it will be very interesting to see how he will perform with such pressure on him. Back in Cerro Porteño he used the shame jersey number, being a key player of the Paraguayan club.
Sadly, Cyle Larin absence on training camp creates a doubt atmosphere about the future of the striker, since as previously explained in Orlandolionsden.com, the attacker was seen training with Besiktas at Turkey.
