Orlando City's 2018 Schedule preview

January 19, 2018

The Major League Soccer 2018 (MLS) fourth season is about to start and Orlando City has announced their schedule for the upcoming MLS campaign as well.

Orlando City Soccer Schedule 2018 is out now and the Lions will play their first match against D.C. United. The OC journey this year will start on March 3, against D.C. United and the match will be played at Orlando City Stadium.

Orlando City will play first two games at home before heading to Yankee Stadium for their third match against New York City FC. The fourth season of MLS will be thrilling and exciting as the competition is high and every team wants to win. The Lions have added Cam Lindley, Josue Colman, Sacha Kljestan and 6th round pick in 2018 Chris Mueller to their squad. There is as well rumors that Lucas de Lima or Miletic might be coming to Orlando City.

Before the OC’s  first match on March 3, the team will first join the training camp which will start on Monday, Jan. 22. There will be overall three intense training sessions and the Lions will be playing five preseason matches and the first match will be played on Feb. 3 against Jacksonville University.

Orlando City Home Schedule 2018

As we already know the first match will be played on March 3 and the City will be playing five out of their first seven games at home. So, Orlando City must be thinking of starting their campaign in the best possible way.

Because, three of the last five matches of OC are scheduled to be played away from home. So, the pressure is on and they cannot afford to lose any game at home.

Orlando City will also host the defending champion Toronto FC in July. Furthermore, there will be teams like Atlanta United (May 13), Portland Timbers (April 8) and the defending Western Conference champion Seattle Sounders on Oct. 17. The Lions will play their last match on Sunday, Oct. 28 at the New York Red Bulls.

Away Matches Schedule 2018 of OCSC

So, the Lions will play the very first match of the fourth MLS season on March 17 against the rival New York FC.

The 2nd away game will be played against the Philadelphia Union on April 13. The Lions have a total of 28 games to be played on Saturday and Sunday. Most of the matches of Lions will be played on the weekend and only three, two and one game will be played on Wednesday, Friday and Thursday respectively.

Orlando City will play five matches each in the month of June and July. But, there is one problem; OC will not have the services of the midfielder Yoshi Yotun from June 14 to 22 because a lot of MLS players will be busy playing in FIFA World Cup 2018.
